Azerbaijan and Singapore Selected for IOI in 2019 and 2020
In 2019 and 2020 International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) will be held in Azerbaijan and Singapore. MIA Kazinform refers to the president of IOI, a professor of computer science department of the University of New Bulgarian Krassimir Manev.
"Today, on the advice of the leaders of the country have been declared, host to the International Olympiad in Informatics. In 2019, Azerbaijan will host the competition. But since this time there was a strong desire to Singapore to host the Olympic Games, we decided this year to select the two states. Thus, in 2020 Olympic Games will be held in Singapore," said K. Manev.
Recall that this year Kazakhstan hosted the first International Olympiad in Informatics, which was attended by over 630 delegates from 83 countries. At the end of two days of competition was the best student from South Korea Ji Hak Yong, who scored 600 points out of 600 possible. Kazakhstan national team won three "silver" and a "bronze".
In 2016 the first Olympic Games are to be held in Kazan, capital of Tatarstan on the basis of the Kazan Federal University. The 2017th Olympics will be hosted by Iran and those of 2018 – by Japan.
